What is Pranakriya Yoga?

There are many types of Yoga practiced in the U.S. today. Stephanie Gaines-Bryant chose to study and received her teacher certification through the Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts. Pranakriya Yoga was developed by Yoganand Michael Carroll who was a resident of Kripalu Ashram for 15 years. Similar to Kripalu Yoga, Pranakriya Yoga involves raising energy through slow movement and pranayama (breathing), and holding postures for long periods of time. Students are encourage to relax the body and to listen to the body as a posture flow is created. The postures can have a profound effect on students by helping them dissolve deep tensions and by helping them develop a true sense of aliveness.

There are three categories of Pranakriya classes; Meditative Postures classes, Gentle Stretch Classes, Yoga Workout Classes. Stephanie Gaines-Bryant specializes in Meditative Posture and Gentle Stretch classes.
